Office of Research

The Department of Development's Office of Research provides data and analysis on the economic, industrial, demographic, and program trends of the state of Ohio, its businesses, and its people.

The Office of Research was originally created within Development to be the state’s sole source data center for population projections and demographic information. Since its establishment, the office’s responsibilities have expanded to include the provision of data and analysis on economic, industrial, and program trends of the economy and the people of the state of Ohio.

Through reports, and maps, businesses and individuals can obtain data on the economic activities of Ohio, as well as the population trends of cities, villages, townships, and counties. The office is a member of the Federal State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates and is the U.S. Census Bureau’s State Data Center for Ohio.

In addition to the Office of Research data products, additional data about Ohio from state agencies and entities is available at data.ohio.gov.
